Playing as the western Roman Empire on hard difficulty was and still is an experience and I did something very wild. I abandoned almost every single settlement except for the ones in Italia and some bordering ones to the north of it and I just stayed with those developing them and defending them and I gotta say it’s been going great and fighting the barbarian hordes on hard difficulty gives an almost apocalyptic feeling which just makes every victory that much sweeter. Truly incredible and really makes me feel like a defender of the Roman people against the numerous barbarian hordes trying to watch Rome burn.

As an irl rider who's currently getting more into jumping, this minigame is the best I've ever seen. Like, it's INCREDIBLY well done. I mean, you have to jump right through the middle, if not, the horse will *not* jump, and that's what it's like irl! If you don't canter through the MIDDLE of the jump, the horse is very likely to refuse! In the game, if you speed up too much, it's likely the horse will not jump, and that happens irl too if you're going too fast and you're choosing a bad distance and not counting the strides. I can just feel as if this minigame represents how a horse jumping irl actually does it, because there's games where you just have to press a button and it'll jump. That's just- not how it works. And I love that despite this being just a minigame, there's a hint that horseback riding is not just something that people do to move around in Hyrule, but a sport! I'm happy to see these kinda things in my favorite games, it makes my day every time. ❤
